The WR108 Portable Public Alert Radio from Oregon Scientific keeps your family informed and prepared for life-threatening hazards 24 hours a day. The weather alert radio function provides statements, watches, and warnings about approaching severe weather such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods. But this "all-hazards" radio will also warn you about civil emergencies such as Amber alerts, natural disasters (earthquakes, forest fires, volcanic activity), technological hazards (chemical releases, oil spills, nuclear accidents), and national emergencies (terrorist attacks), and much more. The stylish state-of-the-art WR108 compact public alert radio includes SAME (Specific Area Message Encoding) programming, allowing you to receive weather statements, watches, and warnings specific to your area, even when the electricity is out. Convenient portability for traveling with rechargeable Ni-MH battery and charging dock. Easy setup anywhere in the United States and Canada.
