280-6510-A Richards Type Water Level Recorder

The Model 280-6510-A Richards Type Water Level Recorder is designed to provide an economical, continuous record of water level. A 2-inch diameter float acts as the level sensor. A stainless steel cable attached to the float feeds over a precision pulley and is terminated with a counterweight. The pulley drives a set of gears that move the recording pen. Three pulley diameters are provided, giving each recorder three ranges: 0 to 10, 20, and 30 feet or 0 to 3, 6, and 10 meters. A change of chart paper is all that is required to convert from English to metric units.

The water level recorder features a battery-operated clock. The rotation periods are 1 day (26 hours), 7 days (176 hours), and 31 days. The desired period is selected by a switch on the top of the clock. Each chart includes all three ranges, thus increasing the versatility of the instrument. A cartridge pen is used to provide clear recording and simple pen maintenance.
