Towers and Lightning Protection
NovaLynx offers a variety of tripods and towers for portable and fixed meteorological installations. Various sensor masts and booms are available to accommodate any suite of sensors. Also offered are guying kits, tower grounding kits, and sensor and power line surge protectors.
190-500 Series Tripod Towers
Tripod towers are constructed of steel tubing for durability and strength. This series features movable feet brackets for mounting to a concrete slab, wooden platform, or angled or sloped roofs.
190-600 Series Aluminum Towers
This series provides free-standing tower options with legs constructed of tubular aluminum in a 14" triangle pattern. Each tower section is approximately 10’ long. Ground and roof mounted bases are available.
190-700 Series Steel Crank-Up Towers
Crank-up tower allow instruments to be raised and lowered for easy calibration and maintenance. This series also includes tilt-over bases to further lower the tower to the ground. These towers are not designed for climbing.
Mounting Hardware and Accessories
Tower installations can require various sensor masts, mounting hardware, guying kits, and booms. Please consult with NovaLynx for proper sensor installation accessories.
Tower Lightning Protection & Sensor Line Lightning Protection
Electrical surges due to lightning are common sources of sensor and data acquisition equipment failures. Lightning protection packages and line surge arrestors improve the likelihood of continued functioning of equipment exposed to frequent lightning storms or power surges.
